Recreate the Pose of a Famous Photo
My boss, Dennis, loves the Beatles. And yes, he’s a baby boomer! His favorite album is Abbey Road with John, Paul, Ringo and George walking across a striped crosswalk on the cover.
The Beatles had many famous photo albums but this may be their fans’ most favorite.
For one of his retirement gifts, I recreated the famous Beatles photo with Dennis and his three Team Leaders who have worked with him for 20 years.
I scoped out the many streets in our city and found the white stripes in an intersection that would allow us to recreate the photo.
We met early on a Saturday morning to avoid traffic and to take pictures before the sun caused shadows.
Can you believe Dennis already owned a white suit? It was the perfect match for John Lennon (without the long hair, of course).
Eldon wore a dark suit to resemble Ringo Starr.
Deborah wore a suit, high heels (instead of going bare foot) and carried her iPad for an updated version of Paul McCartney holding a cigarette.
Last but not least, John wore jeans similar to George Harrison’s attire.
The photographer even photoshopped a new VW Bug convertible on the right side of the photo.
The photo shoot took less than 20 minutes but we had lots of fun doing it! I used the final image to order photo canvas gifts for each of them.
Recreating a famous photo pose can be done for any occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries, engagements or just because it’s a fun experience!
Remember the infamous photo of the VJ Day Kiss? It’s been recreated many times. This pose would make a cute engagement photo or a save-the-date card for a wedding.
It’s not just about the photo though.
It’s a fun experience to recreate a famous photo pose. You’ll create both special memories and a memento to last a lifetime!
Can you think of other famous photos that could be recreated? Please share. We would love to hear your ideas!
