Valentine’s Day is where most of us (women) expect something from the heart. Such as a dinner date, movies, flowers, chocolate, jewelry or a card from our sweetie.

Randy and I enjoy surprising each other with gifts and sometimes we decide together on a gift for Valentine’s Day.

I told my husband I wanted to give him a fitness tracker wristband for Valentine’s Day but did not know which kind. I asked him to go online, and together we researched fitness trackers.

I knew once he started looking it would perk his interest. He loves gadgets! Do I know him or what?

As we were researching, Randy asked if I wanted one. “Yes, I want us both to be healthier,” I told him. We eat healthy and stay active but we no longer set aside time to exercise on a regular basis, and this would be a great way for us to get fit.

There are many fitness trackers wristbands to choose from with various features that monitor and measure steps, distance, calories burned, heart rate, sleep, alarms, clock, GPS and more. After comparing and price shopping, we decided on the one that would best fit our needs and chose the Fitbit.

We’ve set our goal to 10,000 steps per day with our Fitbit.

Then after a few days, something unexpected happened. What started out to get us to MOVE created competition with each other to meet our daily goals.

It’s been really fun. If I haven’t quite made my goal, I step it up! Pun intended. I’ve got to have more steps than him at the end of the day. Of course, he is doing the same! The results? The more we move, the more we step, the healthier we are!

A fitness tracker wristband may be my favorite Valentine’s Day gift because it’s not only from the heart but gives us healthy hearts. You can’t get any better than that!
